(sob)

In any event, the reason I'd initially foregone the spoiler warning was because I thought sufficient time had passed for interested folks to have seen the film. I had forgotten that release dates are often staggered worldwide, often by several months. I should know better. :-o

In other news, I hope to post my obligatory "What I did on my summer vacation" post sometime this week.Earl J. Well, if you would take your blinders off, you might realise there is a whole world outside of North America. Really, check out an atlas, you'll see it's true! And the movie was not released simultaneously all over the world, you small-minded ignorami. I'm still waiting for it to come out here.

Sorry for the caustic nature Earl, but they really rubbed me the wrong way.Andreahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07179356784364968422noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5077773.post-1155508066636133182006-08-13T16:27:00.000-06:002006-08-13T16:27:00.000-06:00If you don't see it in the theatre, you don't care...If you don't see it in the theatre, you don't care enough about the movie to have spoilers REALLY affect you. As usual, this blog entry was filled with great insights, both about the movie and about humankind, in general.

If I had one suggestion, it would be to stick a warning to all of us who haven't seen the movie yet at the top of the review. I'm not complaining -- knowing the story beforehand has never ruined a movie for me -- it's just a suggestion.

Somehow, when I think of Superman saving the day, it always involves him landing a plane.Liam J.https://www.blogger.com/profile/05670587605642193711noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5077773.post-1154374654799531812006-07-31T13:37:00.000-06:002006-07-31T13:37:00.000-06:00Apparently plans for the second film include a "po...Apparently plans for the second film include a "powerful alien threat," so maybe we'll get to see Superman take on Brainiac, or perhaps General Zod again. Although personally, I'd love to see a film where Superman takes on some of his more obscure villains, like the Atomic Skull or Metallo.Earl J. I liked the movie ...Thanks for the insights, Earl! I liked the movie better msyelf the second time around (seeing it in 3D with Fenya!), but still found it kind of anti-climactic. I recognize an actual fight between Luthor and Superman would be ridiculous and unsatisfying, but still, my inner Batman calls out for more comeuppance, yknow? In the end though, I agree with you: the movie is less about how good Superman himself is, and more about how much good he brings out in others. -StephenAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
