A few weeks ago I ordered a homemade "Welcome to New Vegas" sign from Etsy. It arrived today, freshly painted by the vendor. (Fallout Girl, painted by me, for scale.) I think it'll make a nice bit of terrain on that happy day when I eventually host a game of Fallout: Wasteland Warfare.

NCR Ranger
Here's the first Fallout: Wasteland Warfare figure I've painted from their New Vegas range, a New California Republic ranger - or, possibly the Courier in NCR ranger gear. For the first time, I used a headset with magnifying lenses and an LED flashlight to paint the tiniest details of the mini, and I'm quite happy with the results. Normally there's no way I would have been able to get all the paint in the right places on a small, detailed model like this, but I think I made a fair go of it this time.

New Vegas Eyebot
Eyebots can be seen floating around the wastelands, broadcasting music or propaganda and occasionally zapping botflies with their laser beams. I have this one a New Vegas feel with brown tones for the robot and some desert foliage and a cow skull from a Pulp Figures set for the base.

Raul the Ghoul
Here's the Fallout: Wasteland Warfare version of Raul the ghoul, one of the companions who you can choose to tag along with you in Fallout: New Vegas. He's a mechanic, and I'm pretty happy with the details I managed to paint onto his suit, such as the white zipper and pocket flaps.
I even managed to get his gun holster mostly correct, although these photos don't really show that clearly.

New Vegas Deathclaw
Here is the first model I've painted after Jeff sent me some new pointers. While I'm still using my old brushes and not the ones Jeff recommended, I did my best to follow a couple of key tips: put less paint on my brush and cover the model in many coats instead of rushing and trying to cover the model in one thick coat. I applied the same thought to drybrushing, taking more time to ensure my brush was virtually free of paint before applying. If you look closely, you can see that I started with the legs and still had a bit too much paint on my brush. The tail, torso, and arms are much closer to what I envisioned. I also used the same two paint colours on the base, the idea being that perhaps this creature has evolved to resemble its surroundings. The effect is muted a bit by the shrubs and rocks I added to the base.
You may note that the model is missing a talon on its right hand. Rather than glue it back in place, I decided to add some Green Stuff World true blood to the stump and palm to suggest a wound. Then I added some more blood to the other claws and some on the creature's horns and body to imply the results of a fierce battle.
For my own part, I think this represents an improvement over my last few paint jobs. Of course, any faults remain my own; they're not due to Jeff's advice, only in my failing to apply it properly.
I'm calling this a New Vegas deathclaw because I tried to give it a colour scheme of sepia-ish tones to match the its computer game counterpart.

Tabitha the Nightkin
Here's Tabitha, one of the super mutant variants known as nightkin. You can find her in Fallout: New Vegas. Don't worry, she's friendly! If you're nice, that is.
In this case, I painted the model before assembling all the parts, and I tried to duplicate the colour scheme I found online. I think she's not bad?

Throwing Paint on a Burning Man
Here's Joshua Graham, AKA The Burning Man, a lost soul from the Honest Hearts storyline in Fallout: New Vegas. I quite like the way Josh's jeans and bandages turned out. I had slightly less success with his vest, but overall, I'm satisfied.

Lone Star Mod for Fallout: New Vegas Coming?
As a huge fan of Fallout: New Vegas, I hope this fan project comes to fruition. Since it seems like it'll be quite some time before we see Fallout 4, a total conversion mod with all-new content would be great to tide fans over.

Pop Culture Diorama
Last year I assembled this diorama to decorate the theatre room. Since then I've rearranged the whole room, and I've moved the diorama to my office, jiggling several pieces out of place in the process. Rather than put the whole thing back together the way it was, I think I'll switch out some pieces and create a new display.
For fun, can you identify each item I've enshrined in this temple of pop culture? If you think you can, post your answer in the comments. Whoever scores the highest earns the right to direct me to write a short story featuring any three of the items in question, said story to be finished before Christmas day.
