Soda Can Turrets

I painted a pair of 3D-printed turrets made to incorporate soda cans. Cute! I'll use them for Star Schlock objectives. 

Crimson Raider

I wound up with a second Star Schlock Star Raider model, so for the sake of telling the two miniatures apart, I gave this one hues of crimson. 

Save Ripley!

I picked up a new Star Schlock accessory set that included a cat and cat carrier, along with rules for a "save the cat" objective. Sean challenged me to paint the cat like his cat, Ripley. I don't think I really did Ripley justice, but at this scale it's not too bad for an Earl-painted cat. The teeny-tiny eyes have a bit of character, I think.

Mutant Overlords

I painted a set of Star Schlock`s mutant overlords. These guys are clearly inspired by the mutants in Beneath the Planet of the Apes, so I tried to paint them as they appeared in the film. I had a little trouble with the veiny faces revealed when the mutants take their human masks off, but at least I tried.

Dum-Dum and Recycling Bin

"Dum-Dum" because I painted him to look like a bullet, "Recycling Bin" because the world needs mobile recycling bins that come to your house and get your plastic bags and cardboard boxes. And also chastise you for leaving the tap water running while you brush your teeth.

Here's my freshly-painted Union Science Team. The Union is a starfaring cooperative of many species, most of them almost human save for exotically-hued (to humans) skin and perhaps the odd pair of antennae.

A Pair of Zayces

Here are two versions of Doctor Zayce, one of the leaders of the simian faction in the Star Schlock skirmish game. No reason to be unhappy with these; the skin tones look good, the hair looks good, you can see the fine detail in the vests, and everything looks pretty clean. The exceptions might be their doomsday devices, which don't look quite as neat. 
 

Rod Roebuck Leads the Charge

This cements it: I'll no longer be adding Reikland Fleshshade to my minis. I need another strategy for creating shadows on skin. 

Primal Error

I spent all my free time this weekend painting these 20 miniatures. A few minutes ago, I went out to the garage to varnish them. Unfortunately, I picked up my spray can of primer instead of varnish. I realized my mistake after a couple of seconds, but now all these minis are covered in grey mist. Hours of work, ruined by carelessness.
