I figure Diana probably has a secret police force, and I'm sure they fly around in something dark and sinister. I didn't put landing gear on this one; instead, I'll mount it on a clear flying stand.

Visitor Tanker
When the Visitors came to Earth, they pretended to be our friends. But they really wanted our water, and they used these tankers to steal it. Jeff spent hours 3D printing the pieces, and then I spent hours assembling and painting the model. I used an entire bottle of white paint--four or five thin coats--to achieve this look. I'm getting better with white thanks to these kinds of opportunities to practice.

Visitor Trio
We three visitors from afar
Come to leave the Earth clad in scars
Water stealing, humans eating
We're green lizards in disguise
Oh, oh
Ship so massive
Ship of might
Ship to set your towns alight
Burning pyre civ's on fire
Humanity's endless night
Come to leave the Earth clad in scars
Water stealing, humans eating
We're green lizards in disguise
Oh, oh
Ship so massive
Ship of might
Ship to set your towns alight
Burning pyre civ's on fire
Humanity's endless night
NOT ANOTHER TIME LOOP! DRONETROOPERS TO THE RESCUE!

Chucky and Lydia
This is the first time I've attempted to paint a flesh-toned minifigure using Jeff's most recent tips. I underpainted the hands and face with the thinnest coat of light red I could, then added very thin layers of flesh tone. The result is certainly better than typical for me; I shot the figure in two different places to try it out under different lighting conditions.
Note, however, that I did not add an ink wash to Chucky's flesh. This becomes relevant below.
Here are two photos of Lydia, Diana's conniving rival in the television series V. I painted this model the same way I painted Chucky, with one exception: I added an ink wash, typically recommended for miniatures to make small details like the shadows between fingers distinct.
Lydia still looks better than a lot of my human figures, but the ink wash has given her a ruddy look; I was hoping for something paler to better approximate Lydia's actor, June Chadwick.
I'm using Reikland Fleshshade for ink wash, but I wonder if perhaps there's a lighter shade I could use to avoid this muddy/ruddy effect. Or I could forego a wash altogether; Chucky seems fine without it.

Visitor Shuttles Ready for Launch
Here's a pair of Visitor shuttles, one for people (left) and one for cargo (right). Hand-painting the Visitor symbols was the toughest part; as you can see, I was more successful with the cargo version. Still, these are good enough for play.

Visitor Night Patrol
Your friends, the Visitors, are in your neighbourhoods nightly to protect you from the so-called "resistance." Law-abiding citizens have nothing to fear from your Visitor allies!
Here's the second Visitor jeep I've painted. The first I painted white to match the TV show, but this time around I decided to go with basic black for variety--and because black pigment is easier to work with. The results may be non-canonical, but I'm really quite pleased by the vibe of fascistic menace that's resulted. I even hand-painted the creepy Visitor logo onto the hood. It's not perfect, but to the naked eye it looks pretty good.
Starting tomorrow, it's the 2024 edition of Lego Advent Calendar Haiku! Get ready for your daily dose of holiday spirit, Lego, and bad poetry.

Visitor John
Here's John, leader of the benevolent Visitors who came to Earth in 1983. John's hair and trademark Visitor sunglasses turned out really well here, and his facial features are pretty crisp, too.

A Visitor Arrives
Oh look, a visitor! Or rather, a Visitor. Looks like a harmless chap, and not at all a fascistic reptilian alien in human skin . . .
The Visitor jeeps on V were white, so this model follows suit. I diluted the paint and applied, many, many thin coats, and while it the results look somewhat better than other models I've painted white, there are still some gloopy bits and visible brush strokes. I also messed up the hood a little in a misguided effort to get a little fancy.
The Visitor himself looks better than my average mini--I'm particularly happy with the face, hair, hands, and the trademark Visitor black ball cap and dark glasses.
