Tom's Restaurant

Sylvia came to New York ready to shop, and so she does, finding some stellar bargains on designer handbags and charming the Century 21 staff. I sweat it out, and then, thanks to a tip from an old high school friend, we take a taxi over to Tom's Restaurant, famous for its appearances on Seinfeld.
As it happens so often, when we fail to start eating at a reasonable time, Sylvia orders breakfast; I order lunch.
Sylvia's breakfast came with a LOT of bacon. My burger was very plain: bun, burger, cheddar. No condiments. It was delicious.
Pretty reasonable for a meal in New York.
A nice Romanian man shot our photo after our meal.

Top of the Rock and the Morning to Ya

The view from our hotel room leaves no room for the sky.
To Battery Park at the southernmost tip of Manhattan, where a good-natured monk blesses Sylvia in an effort to purge the CP from her body. It doesn't work, but the good wishes are welcome.
Off to Brooklyn, with images not captured here.
Back from Brooklyn with more views of the Freedom Tower on our way north for a visit to 30 Rock.
The weather is beautiful, one of the handful of sunny days on a mostly rainy or overcast stay.
Up we go to the top of 30 Rockefeller Plaza for unparalleled views of the Manhattan skyline.
Inside, some passages are strangely deserted.
The plaza itself features teeming multitudes.
At the end of a busy day, the fabled bucket of hotel ice helps us cool down.
