From Justice League of America #69, cover-dated February, 1969 (my birth month, oddly enough). How sad that these super-heroes feel the need to belittle the vocabulary of their foes. You'd think pounding them to a pulp would be punishment enough.

You gotta wonder about comic book writers back in those days. I'm sure they were given raw panels like that one with an editor's note that reads something like, "Heroes run. Add snappy dialogue." And then the writer had to come up with something. Anything to fill the space.

God, I loved those comics.
