Is it Stanley or Livingston? I have no idea, but only now do I see that this explorer is wearing glasses, and of course I've failed to paint them. Perhaps his frames are Caucasian flesh-coloured. Yes, that's the ticket.
You could use a fine-point pen like a Sakura marker and just lightly draw in the frames. Pigment ink pens like Staedtler and Sakura make ink that's permanent on paint. You could even get a gold-ink pen and give the guy some boss 1980's frames! Plus gold-ink pens look neat on Christmas cards, as long as the ink doesn't bleed.
