Nehi was the precursor to RC Cola - Royal Crown. Nehi does refer to "knee high", but exactly what the context is seems up for debate. Nehi preferred tall, thin bottles, and for a while they held unusual, non-standard quantities of soda. The bottles aren't that big, though, but they did get up to 12" tall at a time when the competitors had bottles which were 6". This helped them to stand out to customers looking for their favourite brands on store shelves.
Nehi did run extensive ad campaigns that suggested the bottles were knee-high. Many of them ran illustrations of the bottle next to a pretty girl's legs in a short skirt, claiming that the bottle went as high as her knees. You'd recognize one of these ads instantly, since at least one of them was the visual inspiration for the Major Award in Jean Shepherd's "Christmas Story" anthology, both the book and the movie.
I found out that Radar drank Grape Nehi 47 times during the run of MASH. Nehi was never asked for permission to use their beverage, but MASH did boost sales of their drink by 15%.
