Aggravating Whoopsie

Be careful not to set your refrigerator's temperature too low. Your root beer may freeze, expand, and explode its container, creating a mess and safety hazard in one loud pop. Pun not intended.

Taste the Nuka-Rainbow

For some reason I have extra Nuka-Cola vending machines. Rather than paint them all the standard red and white, I decided to paint a few in the livery of different Nula-Cola flavours.

Left to Right: Nuka-Cola, Nuka-Cherry, Nuka-Grape, Nuka-Cola Victory, Nuka-Cola Quantum, Nuka-Cola Orange, and regular Nuka-Cola again.

Ti Refreshments

These vending machines needed some kind of branding, so I conceptualized the simplest logo I thought I might be able to paint with a very fine brush. At first it was just a stylized T, but then I added the small i, driven by some strange impulse. While imperfect, I think my crude branding looks slightly better than nothing.

Guarana Antactica

Guarana, the Brazilian soft drink from...Antarctica..?
It's not bad. Sort of like a Cherry 7-Up.

A Chilling Error

I popped these into the freezer to chill them, and then found myself distracted by conversation with my charming wife. They came close to exploding, but I rescued them.

Until today, I did not realize that I debuted the same year as The Pop Shoppe.

Tonic Water

Somewhere between Edmonton and Flin Flon our old brown station wagon chewed up the kilometres one by one, headlights carving our way through the night. It was hot and I was thirsty, and in the darkness of the back seat I rummaged for a soda. I found a cold, tin cylinder, pulled off the ring tab and took a hearty gulp of the contents.

Instantly, my face twisted and contorted as my tongue recoiled.

"Eeuuugghhh!" I cried. "What is this?"

I looked at the can:

Tonic water. Tasted once, and never again. Apparently Mom and Dad used it for drink mix, once upon a time.
